The BOD POD in Athletics
LMI has been serving the elite athletic community since 1995, when an NFL team purchased a BOD POD for testing the body composition of its players. Ever since, professional, collegiate, Olympic, and premier high school programs have adopted the BOD POD into their athletic programs to:
- Monitor and track the effectiveness of nutrition, rehabilitation, and training programs;
- Develop individual, sport, and/or position-specific body composition ranges;
- Assess Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) and Total Energy Expenditure (TEE);
- Provide athletes with additional motivation and knowledge on proper training principles;
- Accommodate a wide range of subjects (size, race, and gender).

BOD POD clients find that it is a far safer protocol to manage and track both fat and fat-free mass, rather than the overall weight of their athletes. This type of analysis discourages athletes from the dangerous practice of weight loss via dehydration or weight gain by adding suboptimal fat.
The BOD POD Body Composition Tracking System has become the practical Gold Standard for fast, accurate, and safe body composition analysis. See Products for more information.
